Noticeboard

COVID VACCINE Update 4th May  2021 Age 18-59 year old cohort 4 and 7 only.

We have received a large number of applications for the vaccine in this age group over the past 7 days. We regret that we do not have enough vaccines to vaccinate all applicants. We have now closed this application process as we are prioritizing all the applications we have received.

Please do not phone reception to enquire about your application as reception staff have no access to the vaccination appointment system and are unable to advise you. You will receive a text to notify you of an appointment time if you are to receive the vaccine in The Cedar Clinic.

We recommend all patients to register on the HSE portal for the vaccine when advised by the HSE according to your age group. This is even if you have applied for the vaccine in The Cedar Clinic, as you may not qualify for the vaccine in the Cedar Clinic due to the number of applications we have received. If we call you for the vaccine, please cancel your HSE application then in order to free up a space for someone else.

Travel Vaccinationsglobal air travel

If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to make an appointment with the practice nurse to discuss your travel arrangements. This will include which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required.

There is further information about countries and vaccinations required on the links below

Europe Europe & Russia North America North America
Central America Central America South America South America
Caribbean Caribbean Africa Africa
Middle East Middle East Central Asia Central Asia
East Asia East Asia Australasia Australasia and Pacific

It is important to make this initial appointment as early as possible - at least 6 weeks before you travel - as a second appointment will be required with the practice nurse to actually receive the vaccinations. These vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine. Your second appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.

Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the GMS.
